Our Story
Roots that run deep
in the heart of Alma.
Long before 1951, Reverend Roosevelt Green founded the original funeral service — balancing his calling as both funeral director and local minister. His leadership and compassion laid the foundation for a tradition of care that continues to this day.
In December 1951, Reverend Green entrusted the business to Reverend L. W. McGriff, pastor of Zion Chapel Missionary Baptist Church. In time, he partnered with Mr. Layfette Mosby, who assumed full ownership in 1975 and established a new facility. In March 1997, John and Jarrell Mack Litman carried the legacy forward, and today the funeral home proudly operates under the ownership of Jarrell E. Mack as JE Mack Funeral Service, LLC.
